At the French airport Limoges tests of the European service of geostationary granting of the navigating information to planes have come to the end at rise-landing EGNOS.
During tests of self-years ATR42, belonging Management of the French civil aircraft, has made a series of rises and landings with use EGNOS. Tests by means of ATR42, used for calibration of systems of the airports in France, have allowed to verify accuracy of trajectories of rise and the landing, provided EGNOS, with trajectories at use of traditional services, such as Tool landing system (ILS). As have shown tests, accuracy of positioning makes up to two meters.
One of the main advantages of system EGNOS is availability worldwide and independence of a ground infrastructure. Besides the conclusion of data to the panel of devices of self-summer is carried out in the same way, as at ILS so necessities in re-learn the personnel at the beginning of operation of new system will not arise.
Carrying out of certification EGNOS for safety is planned for 2008. The system will provide accuracy in 2 meters. In case of occurrence of problems with accuracy pilots will be warned by a special signal. EGNOS it is developed at participation of the European space agency, the European commission and the Eurocontrol. Now similar systems are already started in the USA, Japan and India. All of them are compatible and interchangeable. Owing to it crews of planes can receive the navigating information from satellites without replacement of the equipment, informs official site ЕКА.
